In our previous post, we share some ideas about the utilities that can give the wood in our garden gazebo. We emphasize in addition, always compare the price / quality, which certainly deserves a look in terms of investment and not expenditure.

The key point is how to choose the wood for use outdoors. His attributes must be:

Highly resistant to deterioration from exposure to natural elements such as snow, rain, wind etc.

Also resistant to attack by insects and fungi, many of them generated due to a weakness in the previous section.

In this regard, councils are:

Evaluate in detail the starting point ie where the timber will be located, how exposed is (including sun exposure)

Choosing the proper wood for those conditions

Find out what the retail demand maintenance and how often.

What is the cost of products and labor in this regard.

As a general recommendation, I can tell you is that if you can invest, opt for the so-called hardwoods. At first they demand more work to cut, rails etc, but they are really tough and avoid them to expand, contract, bend etc inclement weather. These suggest: Lapacho (Tabebuia spp), Quebracho colorado (Schinopsis balansae) and Algarrobo (Prosopis alba and P.nigra).

It depends where the purchase, they can already be treated with products (ie ready to use) or virgin state, in this last if treatment is paramount, and always before assembling the structure designed to that intended.

It is a fact: having spaces where wood reign in our garden, we really love it. Is that the combination wood / garden is one of those couples that we really enjoyed.

Wood is the oldest materials to be used at all times by the man used it to build their houses, to build transportation like cars or boats and as a supporter of many structures. Today is also a favorite even compared to other less expensive as PVC or aluminum.

It’s true: it requires care and maintenance, but in return gives us a warm presence and strong at once, any other material that may give us. Everything ultimately depends on your budget and your needs.

In the market find a variety of products of wood and wood types to make them. It is important in this case buy reliable places where you ensure that the wood has been properly treated or cured as is usually called, because we are talking about wood that live outdoors and withstand all kinds of harsh climate.

What you can use it? Many things of course, point out just a few tables, chairs, decks, platforms, benches, Treillage, planters, swings, borders, fences and bridges or minivallas. You should compare prices and quality, two variables that make the difference between ° spending “and” investment. “
