This plant is native Sacramento rain forests of Peru. Belonging to the family Boraginaceae, is part of a genus comprising over 250 species of annual plants.

Scrub and shrubs are varieties, such as Heliotropium arborescens, Heliotropium compulsory or the Heliotrope peritoneum. Perhaps one of its virtues is the pleasant aroma given off its leaves and flowers.
