What is Aeroponics?
Aeroponics is one of the most promising sources of research in the field of floral and horticultural crops.
The main feature of aeroponics is that these crops can be grown without soil, ie, they are one of the most innovative responses to the problem of lack of space to grow plants.
The advantage is that you can implement self gardens that make it possible to grow herbs and flowers all year. Thus, it is much easier for anyone grow plants quickly and get excellent performance with this type of farming.
With this technique, the functions of water and nutrients are met by portaplantas, as nutrient solutions of mineral salts, which are naturally produced by the earth.
The main benefit is the reduction in fertilizer use, water and a drastic decrease in energy consumption in greenhouse crops. This technique allows for huge increases in production, and can be applied to tomato, cucumber, zucchini, peppers and flowers such as carnations and roses, for example.
How it works?
Within a few channels are placed emitters, which are circulating a nutrient solution for plants to grow, which are not immersed in any substrate. At one end is placed a small microsprinkler, which oxygenate the water. At the other end is located a drainage tube, which returns to bring the solution to the original tank.
The channel is closed at its top, and it is there are plants with roots in the air, using a polystyrene plate, which has in its inside a plastic sleeve.
