Turning to the ferns is a simple and practical way of giving a wild touch to our environment because it is a very typical plant any forest. Whether alone or in Arrieta, not too demanding in their care.
Most of the ferns growing in the woods or in other shady places, so we can locate in many parts of the garden. But for healthy development and nurturing long enough moisture will be needed both in the field and in the air, and a little cool breeze.

Prepare the soil
It is advisable to mix always enough humus to the land where the ferns will grow in your garden. Thus, the soil is kept moist for a long time. In winter the water should be able to escape quickly. This is true for almost all varieties, except for the ‘royal fern’, who just likes some moisture.

Needless to an additional payment, but sometimes it is advisable to mix some bone meal to the soil (1 kg. Per 100 m²). We must notice that there is always a good connection between the earth and present and the new earth. A part of the humus (peat or garden) is mixed with the subsoil, then apply another layer on top.

A garden of ferns should be set preferably in a warm place. This is true both individually and in groups. Ferns hate the wind, especially if it is dry, and need lots of water. They are perennials and therefore also fit very well in beds of this type, provided that the conditions are also favorable to the ferns. The evergreen varieties can give an extra boost during the winter, when much of our garden naked.

Ideal for shady gardens
Ferns are ideal plants for a shady garden. Also for gardeners who have a garden that gives the north, between low light or where the building or a tall tree, are a good alternative. Its charm lies mainly in some degree of mystery that emanates from the green cast of this plant. By alternating single leaf varieties (deer tongue) and varieties with compound leaves (Athyrium filix femina), emerges as some diversity. You can also toggle the very soft leaf varieties with varieties that have just a very rigid sheet.

Autumn is the most appropriate time for planting ferns, because they will have the best chance to grow. On the other hand, almost all ferns are grown in pots now, so further growth opportunities are, however, very large. At the time of the tender leaves develop new growth will take place more easily. However, in the summer if they are somewhat sensitive to any periods of drought.

Attention to planting
When planting must look at the plants are a little deeper than they were in the pot. Only maidenhair ferns and should be planted shallow. It should tighten up the soil around the plants, ensuring that the ball of the pot has absorbed enough water before planting. Ferns can be tens of years in the same place in the garden, except for those with rhizomes, such as the fern-shaped leaves calyx, which walk quietly through the whole garden.

Let fallen leaves in place and not cutting in late fall. In the case of evergreen varieties can be removed and ugly old leaves in spring. Each year can be spread among the plants partially or completely rotten leaves, for an extraordinary development. Flowering plants such as white hellebore, Chinese primrose or lily of the valley are an excellent complement and provide a little more color to your garden of ferns.

The rains attract parasites

In the fall can lead to diseases associated with moisture and mild temperatures. Pests are often very likely to leave when they see that the plant is weakened by excess water. Under these conditions, the fungi proliferate and invade the species, causing irreparable damage sometimes. We must pay close attention and the minimum symptom appropriate fungicide applications and dispose of diseased leaves.

To remove the leaves and plants that we lose as a result of fungal diseases or any other type of pest, you should burn them to ensure that problems do not spread the species can kill and they are around.

Other pests in the garden
This is necessary to control the existence of autumnal leaf-cutter ants around the plants and use mirex, as the most effective means to eradicate the nests. It works quickly to attract ants to the bait to be carried, which is a small cylinder of 2 mm containing a fungicide and sex appeal.

The ants take it to the nest killing eggs and larvae, with the consequent destruction of the colony. Mirex cylinders should be placed in the path of the ants. Do not apply when rain is likely, because you lose the effect of the attraction that takes the bait and does not perform its function properly. It is necessary to carry out periodic checks to detect ants and keep the place clean of weeds or grass.

Likewise, the aphids are an enemy that found in most gardens and that we must eradicate quickly to avoid fatal consequences. To do this, you should review and reverse floral buds of new leaves, where aphids are usually grouped house small.

In organic or organic crops is not using chemicals and allow the presence of certain insects, as wasps that eat aphids and maintain a balance between pests of garden. These wasps are available in institutions dedicated to the art of organic farming. As will eliminate this pest naturally and without harming the plant just suffered their attacks.

Another way to eliminate these hosts is with the help of soapy water, which leaves off and is effective if we only plant affected by this parasite. But if there are several damaged plants, it is desirable to use stronger and more effective products, always following the safety measures that the manufacturer deems appropriate. Such products should be used as a last resort.

More and more people-conscious environment. Therefore, it is increasingly more are naturalized decide to build a pool in your garden. The advantages over traditional are endless, they do not need chlorine to maintain them.

This advantage affects the welfare of the environment, but also the very health of those who bathe in the pool as the chemicals used in maintaining dry the skin. In-ground pool is not necessary to use naturalized, since plants are in charge of purifying water.

What is a naturalized pool?

Naturalized pools are the closest thing to swim in a lake or stream, because by the method of construction that have followed, recreate the environment of these environments. To mount a naturalized pool must take into account that a great deal of space is devoted to the filtration zone in which to place plants with gravel and sand.

One of the essential requirements in the construction of a naturalized pool is intended, at least 40 square meters. Of those, only half will be dedicated to space to swim. The other 20 meters (at least, whatever the final size of the pool) will be the area dedicated to regeneration. In addition, through pipes can mimic the cycles that follow the water in a natural setting. So, you can build waterfalls and even waves.

Which plants to choose?

If you decide to build you a pool naturalized, you must choose plants placed in the zone which is not dedicated to the bathroom. The only requirement is that they are plants that support good climate and soil type you have in your garden, so do not complicate your choice to build a pool in front of a traditional naturalized. Besides the plants will grow the microorganisms responsible for regenerating the water.

As it is purified water with plants, it is easy for the first few days acquire a greenish color, but that does not mean that the water is dirty. Also why can attract amphibians, but never be in the bathroom area. Sometimes, the owners of these pools decide to raise fish in your area of regeneration: this can be done whenever there is a filter that prevents their arrival at the swimming area.

Why are organic?

The naturalized pool construction usually costs the same as traditional pools, but over time it is much cheaper because they do not have to spend on maintenance products, which also environmentally friendly because it These chemicals.

How naturalized maintains a pool?

As already mentioned, this type of pools do not require the use of chemicals for maintenance. The only thing to consider is that during the summer, the water reaches the plants that cover the edge so they can continue to carry out their work. In the fall must be addressed to remove the leaves from falling into water to avoid being soiled, and in winter to avoid freezing water.

Gardening and tending to flowers and plants can be great fun and really rewarding but it does create alot more need for storage space, not only the plants and flowrers them selves but also tools, material, soil, seeds, a whole host of things.
Garden sheds are used by people to solve this storage problem. A shed is a great help if you have different items which cannot be stored easily in the house. It provides an easy solution to the common storage problem. We had a wooden garden shed at our home and it stored lots of items which were not used in day to day life.

My mum loved gardening and we stored our gardening supplies like the lawn mover, fertilizers, manure, seeds, and other gardening equipment in the shed. Apart from these supplies, this shed kept our bicycles safe from sun and rain. Actually, this garden shed was a one stop solution for our storage problem. We would often pile old books, newspapers and magazines in the shed and use them later when the need arose.

My sister was pursuing a designing course and she would often buy expensive magazines which she needed to refer later on. Storing these magazines in the loft wasn’t possible as it was difficult to retrieve them when required. This shed was also great at storing old toys and clothes which mom gave away to the needy and poor. So if you are a keen gardener or just need somewhere to store things you have run out of room for in the house you can get a great garden shed at york timber products which could solve all your storage problems.

Many people worry about how to care for your plants. If we talk about house plants, we need not worry. There are only a couple of issues to be addressed.

1. Irrigation:
It is necessary that each garden has a shower. It is recommended to buy one with a narrow peak to ensure adequate irrigation. But not always work as the finger test can help. Insert your index finger to first knuckle on the ground. If you feel the soil is moist, not water. If not, water it.

2. Nutrition:
Ornamental plants always need to have high nitrogen. In contrast, flowering plants need K2O. Slow-acting fertilizer can be mixed with compost. If however, some plants such as cacti and orchids need special feeding. Feed your plants at the peak of its growth.3. Lighting:
There are plants such as Sansevieria and Aspidistra require no shade. They can be located away from a window. The vines need partial shade. These plants can be placed near a window regardless of whether the sun hits it or not. Others do not need the sun at all, as Monstera Delicious.

4. Temperature:
Household plants can survive a little over 40 degrees Celsius. But the drastic fluctuations in temperature can not do them good.

5. Humidity:
Some house plants require a moist environment. One way to keep the humidity is putting the pot inside a larger one and fill the space between with stones or compost to keep moisture inside. The compost does not dry out. Plants have the ability to create their own microclimate close quarters. This is good advice to keep the soil moist. If desired, you can water them once or twice a day, depending on temperature.

6. Transplanting:
There are plants that need to be transplanted to grow optimally, but some do not work that way. If your root system is limited, probably would not like to be disturbed. One way to tell if your plant needs to be transplanted is flipping, tapping into your pot to release the plant and look at their roots. If you only see real, you need a transplant.

You should only care a little about your plants, and in return, reap the benefits. Not only have a garden that will add beauty to your home but also learn how to respect and care for different lifestyles.

They are found in our own garden and can include leaves, prunings, dead plants, trash heaps, green or dry grass clippings, etc.

By combining these elements in different proportions, the result is to obtain an organic soil that serves as a nutrient for plants and flowers.

It is advisable to bury the remains of food somewhere in the garden, but cover it so as to keep out the ugly smells and unwanted animals and insects. After some months the land is fertile and ready to nourish your plants. Another alternative is to prepare liquid manure, placing a bag of animal manure in a pan with water, leave one or two weeks and then use that water to fertilize the soil. So things then you can see that prepare their own plant food is a simple task.

If you are interested in continuing with the adventure of the garden, you need to prepare some ground for your plants. An ideal soil should have the perfect mixture of sand, silt and clay. Preferably should have 40% sand, 40% silt and 20% clay. There are several ways to test your soil to see if he has a good composition.

First, you can compress it in your hand, if it holds its shape and breaks without any force, probably has too much sand. If you make a hole in the compressed ball with your finger and it keeps its shape, will surely take too much mud.

If you are still unsure about the content of your soil, you can separate each ingredient using this simple method. Put some soil in a clear jar with water, then shake the jar until the soil is suspended, and let stand until you see that is separated into three distinct layers. The top layer is clay, the next is silt and sand at the bottom. This makes it easier for you to judge the proportion of each component. After analyzing the content of your soil, do something to fix the proportion of properly or make your own compost for plants. If the soil has too much silt or sand, you’d better add a bit of moss. Moss, when wet, helps better infiltrate new ingredients in the mixture. If you can not get an adequate share, go to your local garden, looking for a product that solves the problem.

The amount of water that will have your soil is an important factor to consider when preparing your garden and depends on irrigation. If your yard or garden is on the ground floor, most likely will have done a lot of water and drowning the plants. You can fix this by raising your garden a little above the ground. This will allow better drainage and less saturation.

Another vital part of the process is to add nutrients or fertilizers to soil, as most urban soils have very little. This process should take place one or two weeks before planting, adding a good dose of fertilizer. Mix well and let sit a while. Once this is done, your floor will be completely ready to plant what you would wish.

Once your seeds are planted must remain attentive to the ground. The first few weeks, the seeds will use all the nutrients they may have to grow the plant. Once the food is exhausted, how are supposed to grow? After a week after planting, you should add the same amount of fertilizer that you added earlier. After doing this should continue to use fertilizer, but not as often. That add a small portion every two weeks, will suffice.

Basically, the whole process of the preparation of the soil can be ruled in a series of steps: First, make sure the soil is properly prepared, then make sure you have indicated drainage, add fertilizer before and after planting, then add a little fertilizer again. Following these simple steps, get a healthy garden in no time. And if you need more details for each step, go to your local nursery and ask. Employees will be more than happy to help.
