Planting Our Own Oregano Garden
Known as the “joy of the mountain,” the vulgare Origamun commonly called culinary oregano or Turkish oregano. Oregano is a close relative of marjoram and also known as marjoram hypothesis. While its flavor is similar to marjoram, oregano flavor is more pungent and has some touches of mint. Greek oregano, a subspecies of O. vulgare, is recommended as the best type of oregano for cooking.
Oregano is a perennial a little hard to grow in the usual way outside or inside in stone. Blooming in early summer, Greek oregano has pink flowers, white or purple, dark green leaves are very aromatic and fine stems branched and courageous. Read the rest of this entry »
